Layered Living: A Bungalow That Balances Expression & Ease
Set on a generous 11,000 sq. ft. footprint, this luxury residence reimagines the idea of
home as both a sanctuary and a canvas. From its striking elevation of cascading exposed
brick masses to its curated interiors layered with tactile richness, the design speaks in
contrasts—bold yet warm, minimal yet expressive, modern yet deeply personal.
The architectural frame: a story in sections
The facade emerges as a sculptural composition—projected volumes articulated with
exposed brick, interspersed with deep-set balconies and gallery cutouts that offer both
privacy and transparency. A gallery corridor with abstract floor inlays adds movement
and play to the overall massing, giving the home its own architectural rhythm.
Upon entry, the grand pivot door sets the tone—crafted to feel both monumental and
welcoming. Inside, the circulation is defined by two distinctive staircases:
• The Piano Staircase at the entrance, sculpted from black and white marble, turns a
functional necessity into an artistic centerpiece.
• From the 1st to 3rd levels, a Cantilever Staircase floats across the vertical spine of the
house—light, minimal, and architectural.
The living room draws the eye upward with its curved ceiling, a sweeping gesture that
softens the linearity of the space. A material palette of leather, marble, and wood creates
visual warmth, while deep blue couches, red lounge chairs, and sculptural rugs offer a
contemporary counterpoint. Built-in niches for curated art and ambient lighting make
the space feel gallery-like—designed to host conversation as much as contemplation.
Bedrooms: five zones, five personalities
Master Bedroom:
This suite is imagined as a self-contained retreat—designed not just for sleep, but also
quiet unwinding. At its center is a rotating TV partition that pivots between the bed and
a cozy lounge area within the same room. The spatial layout is intentionally split: on one
side, a plush bed with a back panel in rich veneer, Italian marble, and brass inlay; on the
other, a lounge setup with modern art, a floor lamp, and an accent chair that feels almost
sculptural. Blue upholstery injects calm, while neutral walls let curated pops of art and
color steal attention in the most subtle way.
Children’s Bedroom:
Created for two growing children, this room is playful without being juvenile. A series of
soft arches defines the bed-back, framing a central abstract artwork that evolves with
age. The design continues at the custom study table—set atop a spherical base—a
sculptural gesture that’s both functional and timeless. The Danbenla solid wood reading
chair in rustic orange adds a punch of personality. Leather textures, bold yet soft,
complete the youthful yet refined mood.
Special Bedroom 1:
This room flows like a gentle wave—its spatial language defined by a curved,
limewashed bed-back that wraps around the bed and integrated side tables. A tactile
contrast plays out between olive green leather upholstery and the soft beige tones of the
limewash. An arched opening within the bed-back subtly reveals a fluted wall in
matching olive green, layering the space with quiet drama. A signature lounge chair
invites stillness and solitude.
Special Bedroom 2:
Evoking a modern heritage aesthetic, this room carries “old money” elegance with
contemporary restraint. A palette of oak wood, creamy leather, and warm-toned marble
creates a tonal harmony, while the burgundy accent chair adds a deliberate break. The
media wall is clad in wood, punctuated with sleek metal inserts forming niche-like
display ledges—understated yet refined.
Guest Room:
Positioned on the first floor for ease and privacy, the guest bedroom echoes the same
attention to comfort and detail found throughout the home. Subdued, functional, and
welcoming, it offers an effortless stay experience for visiting family and friends.
PROGRAMMATIC LUXURY SPACES
Media Room:
Designed as a private theatre and party zone, this space balances indulgence and
comfort. A sculptural bar counter carved from marble—with a spherical base mirroring
the children’s study table—becomes the visual anchor. Behind it, a marble backdrop lit
from above creates an ambient glow. Blue limewashed walls and custom leather sofas
complete the cinematic, lounge-worthy vibe.
Home Gym:
Spacious, well-lit, and minimal—fitted with top-tier equipment and ergonomic design
interventions to support both fitness and focus.
DINING, KITCHEN & CONNECTION
The dining zone merges effortlessly with the open kitchen, reinforcing spatial fluidity
and functional ease. The dining table—a sleek composition of marble and brushed
steel—sits beneath a statement chandelier, bringing together glamour and geometry.
The open layout allows natural conversations between hosts and guests, or quiet
moments over everyday meals.
DESIGN LANGUAGE: COLOR, MATERIALITY & INTEGRATION
Every bedroom in this home carries its own color identity—carefully balanced through
materials, textures, and lighting. Yet, the overall home remains visually cohesive. Subtle
brass accents, limewashed walls, natural wood tones, curated art, and soft lighting tie
each room into a larger narrative.
Full home automation enhances comfort and ease—allowing intuitive control of lighting,
climate, media, and security. The tech is intentionally understated—seamlessly woven
into the architecture without disrupting aesthetics.
The idea was never to make something flashy—it was to make something that feels good
to live in. The materials, the light, the proportions—they all work quietly in the
background. Even the rotating partition in the master bedroom isn’t a gimmick—it’s just
how the space adapts to real life. The whole home comes together around one simple
idea: design should make living easier, calmer, and more intuitive.
